Shore It Up 2010 is the second coastal and underwater clean-up campaign after its successful start last year in Anilao, Batangas. This project is headed and sponsored by Metro Pacific Investments Corp. Foundation and this year in partnership with E & S Adventure Tours as its overall organizer in cooperation with La Laguna Beach Club and Dive Center as its ground partner. For this year 2010, the International Year of Biodiversity, the organizers had chosen Puerto Galera as its recipient . Its 5km foreshore is a protected area and a marine sanctuary. This year is a unique opportunity for volunteers of Shore It Up 2010 to understand the vital role that biodiversity plays in sustaining life on Earth and to stop its loss. Families, academic institutions, environmentalists, LGUs and tourism stakeholders will be invited to participate in this campaign. The date of this event, September 18-19, 2010, is an involvement to the Clean Up The World Weekend 2010 where different communities and/or organizations around the world unite and take action at a local level to address the global issue of climate change.
